For a customer in Switzerland, we are in process of migrating 400 databases to 12c. We have migrated 300 so far, and we have had good and bad surprises. This session will show a few scenarios that we faced during the upgrade project, including:
– the strategy followed by the customer
– a few upgrade issues
– wrong results bugs
– problems with the new optimizer features, notably the Adaptive Dynamic Sampling and the SQL Plan directives
– the most appreciated new features from the operational point of view
The attendees will have an overview of what to expect, not only for big upgrade projects like this one, but more in general about some common problems that they can face at every database upgrade to 12c.
