Tags (key-value pairs) let you add custom context to configuration objects like databases and far sync instances.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Currently, tags serve only for organization and classification, based on your business needs. For example, you might tag databases to track their lifecycle status, flag compliance requirements, or group them by location or department.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Use these commands to manage tags:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"\" dir=\"auto\">\n<li class=\"text-start \"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.oracle.com\/en\/database\/oracle\/oracle-database\/26\/dgbkr\/edit-configuration-set-tag.html\">EDIT CONFIGURATION SET TAG<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"text-start \"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.oracle.com\/en\/database\/oracle\/oracle-database\/26\/dgbkr\/show-configuration-tag.html\">SHOW CONFIGURATION TAG<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"text-start \"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.oracle.com\/en\/database\/oracle\/oracle-database\/26\/dgbkr\/edit-database-set-tag.html\">EDIT DATABASE|FAR_SYNC|MEMBER SET TAG<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"text-start \"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.oracle.com\/en\/database\/oracle\/oracle-database\/26\/dgbkr\/show-database-tag.html\">SHOW DATABASE|FAR_SYNC|MEMBER TAG<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"auto\">You can also view tags using the new fixed view <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.oracle.com\/en\/database\/oracle\/oracle-database\/26\/refrn\/V-DG_BROKER_TAG.html\">V$DG_BROKER_TAG<\/a>, or manage them with standard interfaces like the PL\/SQL API and SQLcl.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ludovicocaldara.net\/dba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/dg26ai-tagging-scaled.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2355\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ludovicocaldara.net\/dba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/dg26ai-tagging-1024x319.png\" alt=\"Examples of commands to set and show tags, including querying v$dg_Broker_Tag\" width=\"584\" height=\"182\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ludovicocaldara.net\/dba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/dg26ai-tagging-1024x319.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.ludovicocaldara.net\/dba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/dg26ai-tagging-300x94.png 300w, https:\/\/www.ludovicocaldara.net\/dba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/dg26ai-tagging-768x239.png 768w, https:\/\/www.ludovicocaldara.net\/dba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/dg26ai-tagging-1536x479.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.ludovicocaldara.net\/dba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/dg26ai-tagging-2048x639.png 2048w, https:\/\/www.ludovicocaldara.net\/dba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/dg26ai-tagging-500x156.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Tag names beginning with &#8220;ORA&#8221; are reserved for possible future features, so avoid using that prefix.
